It has now been more than a year since Saida Falkou joined us at the Cloud Communications division of NTT Ltd. as a Business Development Manager. If you ask her to describe her job, she’ll tell you that the focus is ‘to manage and grow relationships to drive expansion across our services.’ She loves seeing how, using our solutions, clients transform how they communicate and collaborate.
We met with Saida to look back on her first year in the company. What does she enjoy, how does she find working remotely, what keep her curious as she moves into her second year with the business? Let’s find out!
Q. You joined us one year ago now. Which aspect of working here do you like the most?
Together we deliver innovations that help to overcome challenges. What’s more, in the current COVID-19 crisis, our services are so central to how people and businesses can continue working. Helping clients transform their entire communications set-up is really very exciting.
Q. What was your first month in the job like?
The focus was on learning about the solutions and the market situation. But that is still the case, you never stop learning.
Q. In your video, you talk about the company’s values. What is your favourite of these, and how do you live it?
Our commitment to always listen to the needs of people, clients, and communities. This is at the heart of our values. So, in my daily work, it’s a priority for me to be trustworthy, act with integrity and be an genuine partner for our clients.
Q. You are now working 100% from home. How did you adapt to this new way of working? Do you have any tips for good remote productivity?
Organization is key! Create to-do lists for each day you are working from home. This helps you focus on the essential things and gives you the opportunity to measure how much you have achieved. Complete complicated and unpleasant tasks first and then routine tasks at the end. This approach ensures high productivity every day.
Q. You explain in the video that the company encourages its employees to stay curious. What is the process like for you? Can you give us an example?
No day is like any other at the Cloud Communications division of NTT Ltd. That’s why you have to approach solutions with creativity. And that’s the way you have to do it. The company encourages us to try out new methods and to challenge ourselves.
Q. What advice would you give for someone who wants to be a motivated Business Development Manager like you?
Knowledge always gives you a head start. But, the will to learn is the most important factor. The more I know about markets, clients, and technical developments in my business environment, then the more success I’ll have.
