‘While many might sink in a sea of change, Vincenza brings calm encouragement, and a solid message of hope. I learn so much from her. She’s like my secret life coach.’
Vincenza Gutierrez, Service Provisioning Manager, oversees the Global Provisioning team for the Legacy services along with Webex, DDI Ordering, and Porting. Though carrying a load of global changes, pressure, and deadlines, Vincenza will always answer with a smile and a positive message. It was her positivity that convinced her colleagues to choose her as the October ‘Go the Extra Mile’ winner.
We had the chance to chat with Vincenza about her way of working that earned her many praises.
Q. What do you like most about your job?
I like to have a new challenge to face every day. There’s never a dull moment on the provisioning team. But really, the best part of my job is my team. They are all hard-working and positive no matter what type of challenges we face.
Q. How would you define positivity at work?
I try to keep an open mind, remain positive, and I’m always ready to take on new challenges. Negativity reduces your energy levels, lowers productivity, and drags down everyone around you. Generating positivity not only makes the day go by faster but also increases a sense of camaraderie.
Q. Your colleagues praised how you use positivity as a problem-solving tool. How do you do that and what do you think it is important?
Positivity is essential to approach each problem as an opportunity for improvement, but also to work together to resolve it. To solve a problem, you must look at it positively. That’s the best way to find the right solution. In addition, spreading positivity allows everyone to work together more efficiently and think more creatively to solve complex problems.
Q. You have been in the company for 15 years, what is your most memorable moment at the Cloud Communications division of NTT?
My most memorable moments are the ones spent with colleagues during the holiday parties and customer service week. Spending time with colleagues helps strengthen bonds and improve communication within the team.
Q. What is an ability you wish you had?
I wish I had the ability to duplicate myself, I can’t imagine all the things I could achieve!
